I am sitting in the back of our church as we launch our first summer movie series campaign ever. The theme for this year is Who’s you hero? We are introducing a series of superhero movies such as Transformers, Kung Fu Panda, Spider-Man and Courageous with the intent to compare and contrast the ultimate hero, Jesus.
Tonight we are showing Transformers, which am a huge fan. It falls right in with a classic good versus evil story and the right to choose. As for the transformation process, it goes a bit deeper than that. Transformations happens at a logical level. Our thoughts govern who we are and how we think. Still, we cannot overlook the fact that we do have free will. We chose to do right or wrong and this choice leads to transformation. The human nature is born with a self serving nature. A nature that seeks it’s own benefit and one which fights against change The bible says in Romans that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is life in abundance through Jesus Christ.
Allowing God to work in our lives is a crucial step to a life changing transformation. The only way God can fully transform our lives is through Jesus. We have a choice to follow Jesus and allow him to change our life. When we allow this we are allowing Jesus to work in our minds in the way we think and how we act ultimately in the decision that we take thus transforming us from within.
