Baptism is a very special event in the life of a believer. It is not only a public affirmation that you have accepted Jesus as your Savior but also that your life is being changed and led by the Holy Spirit.
Every year we hold one baptism event at this particular park and every year it gets bigger and better! Yesterday we held our baptisms at the Seven Lakes and it was a blessing.
As we packed a 40 seat cheese bus, a 15 passenger van and numerous cars, we set out for a day of praise, worship, thankfulness and celebration. The weather on Saturday was perfect for an outdoor celebration of this magnitude.
This year we had 6 sister churches from the Christian & Missionary Alliance joining us and together we baptized about 30 people. What a magnificent sight to see 30+ people dressed in white robes at the edge of the water surrounded by 100 + people cheering, praising and clapping for them.
It is truly a blessing to see how many youth and young adults took the step of baptism and declared for all to see that they have received Jesus as their Savior and have been added to the body of Christ. Our church was blessed to baptized 11 people including 3 youth and 2 young adults.
As they start to run the race laid before them, I pray that God will continue shine His light on them, that Jesus will surround them with His love and that they will be led by the Holy Spirit.
I can’t wait for next year!
